Ready for a flavor-packed dish that will change the way you look and think about salads? Today, we're diving into the vibrant tastes and colors of a Southwest Stacked Salad! The key word here is "Southwest"! If you know me at all, you know this is one of my favorite flavor combinations. I think it has something to do with being from Texas! Also, I love fixing salads because they are perfect for cooking for 2! It is so easy to prepare just the right amount with no waste and the options are endless!

Not only is this salad full of mouth-watering flavors, but it is also a stunning tower of colorful ingredients, each layer bursting with unique tastes and textures of Southwest flavors. It's a salad that will make your taste buds dance with joy and leave you hungry for more. So, fasten your aprons, and let's get stacking!

Every epic stacked salad needs a solid foundation, and mine is no exception. Imagine a bed of crisp, fresh Romain acting as a base for all the deliciousness to come. This leafy layer not only adds a refreshing crunch but also sets the stage for the ensuing fiesta of flavors.

Now that we have our foundation, it's time to stack those layers and create a feast for your eyes as well as your taste buds! Imagine a salad that's not a jumble of ingredients tossed together but a beautiful tower of flavors and textures. This salad tells a story, with each layer bringing its own unique twist. The Southwest is known for its vibrant ingredients and corn is no exception. Sweet, juicy corn kernels offer a burst of sunshine on your palate. Ripe and juicy tomatoes are non-negotiable in any salad. Go for cherry tomatoes, heirlooms, or sundried wonders to inject a burst of color and tangy sweetness into your dish. A layer of protein-packed black and pinto beans adds a creamy texture but also brings the essence of the Southwest to every bite. Another creamy, dreamy, and undeniably delicious layer is the avocado which adds a velvety smoothness to your salad. You can slice, mash, or dice it – the choice is yours. Finally, it is time for the extra touch that ties everything together...the perfect topping! I am keeping it simple but flavorful by adding a spicy sour cream. This is easily achieved just by adding a touch of lime and chili powder. But wait! I can't forget about the homemade salsa, which is essential to the southwest flavors.
