Rustic Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Farmer’s Breakfast for Supper

Hello There!

Are there any other breakfast lovers out there??? When I say breakfast, I don't mean just in the mornings. I mean for suppertime too. There's something incredibly comforting about a hearty breakfast, especially when it's made in a cast iron skillet and served up for supper. This week, I whipped up a Rustic Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Farmer's Breakfast that is one of our favorites. It's the perfect dish for breakfast, brunch, or even a cozy dinner. Paired with a side of fresh fruit drizzled with a delicious glaze, it made a great ending to a great day!.

Breakfast for supper has always been a favorite in our household. There’s something nostalgic and comforting about enjoying a classic breakfast dish at the end of the day. It breaks up the routine and adds a bit of fun to our weekly meal planning. Growing up, my family often enjoyed breakfast foods at unconventional times, and it’s a tradition I've happily continued. This Rustic Farmer's Breakfast is particularly special because it's packed with protein, flavor, and rustic charm that only a cast iron skillet can provide. No worries though if you don't have a cast iron skillet it is still delicious!

Using a cast iron skillet for this dish brings out incredible flavors and creates a beautiful, rustic presentation. The skillet allows everything to cook evenly and gives a nice crisp to the potatoes while keeping the eggs perfectly cooked and the cheese wonderfully melty. Whatever type of skillet you use it is still fantastic because cooking it all in the skillet makes for an easy and quick clean-up.

To balance out the savory flavors of the farmer's breakfast, I served it with a side of fresh fruit. The combination of sweet, juicy fruit with a light glaze made with orange juice was a refreshing complement to the rich and hearty main dish. It added a touch of brightness and a burst of freshness that made the meal feel complete. I used a mix of melon, blueberries, red grapes, and mandarin oranges which not only tasted great but also added a lovely pop of color to the plate. As you know, Kyle is not a big fan of fruit so I have to sneak it in wherever I can.

So next time you're in the mood for a delicious and hearty meal, give this recipe a try. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Happy cooking!
